PoE 2 PS5 Regex: Searching on Console
The tool pages build search strings for the stash and vendor search box. The string is the same on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. What is not confirmed yet is how long a string the console search box accepts, so this page sets out what is known and how to check it yourself.
How long can a search be on console?
Not confirmed. Player reports say the Path of Exile 2 search box takes 50 characters, with 250 expected in a later patch, and some players think PC already takes more than console. The builder counts against 250, the limit it assumes, and does not shorten anything for you.
Until this is checked on console, keep console strings to 50 characters or fewer. If your search box turns out to take more, a short string still works.
Check the limit on your console
- Pick modifiers on a tool page until the counter shows a little over 50 characters.
- Type the string into the stash search box.
- If the box stops taking characters, or the end of the string is missing, your limit is shorter.

Getting the string onto your console
The game on a console cannot read the clipboard of the phone or PC you open this site on, so the copy button does not reach it. You type the string with the on-screen keyboard, which is one more reason to keep it short. The strings use quotes, the bar |, brackets, backslashes, dots and a few other symbols.
Save it once in the PS5 dictionary
So you only type a string once, save it as a term in the PS5 keyboard's user dictionary and pick it from the keyboard's suggestions whenever you search:
- On the PS5, open Settings > Language and find the option to add or edit a keyboard term.
- Add a term, type the string from the builder, and save it.
- In game, open the stash or vendor search, bring up the on-screen keyboard and choose the saved term from its suggestions.
This has not been tested here yet: the menu names may differ between system versions, and a term may have its own length limit or refuse some symbols. The term lives in your console's dictionary; this site never sees it.
Keeping a string short
- Pick only the two or three modifiers you care about most.
- Use any rather than all when one match is enough: all costs three characters per modifier instead of one.
- Leave filters you do not need neutral; a neutral filter adds nothing to the string.
- Turn on Round values down to nearest 10 when you enter values: the pattern gets shorter.
Trade search on console
The trade button opens the official PC trade site; it does not search console listings.
